WebMD- better info. Better health. Better check it out

The Specialty Site Journalism award went to WebMD -- and rightly so. This site epitomizes interactivity -- from message boards and blogs, to quizzes and slide shows; you name it, this site offers it.

One particularly useful tool, not to mention a favorite of mine is the symptom checker. Just tell the good ol' web doc where your aches and pains are, and poof...you're given a list of POSSIBILITIES as to the cause of your ailment. You're also able to check a map to determine if your symptoms are statewide. Note the emphasis on possibilities, however, as WebMD politely gives the disclaimer that "This tool does not provide medical advice. It is intended for informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment."

Another useful tool offered by the site its "Top 12 Health Topics," with a different list for males, females and children. Perhaps the greatest thing about WebMD is that it's user-friendly, and useful to anyone regardless of age, race, or sex.
